1. Transparency and Accountability

Americans are fed up with elected officials and bureaucrats operating without transparency and accountability. Placer County is no different. Even though our county is a wonderful place to live, we face these same issues. It has been challenging to see any sense of urgency or commitment to transparency and accountability from the Board of Supervisors, and this needs to change. Residents have the right to know if their tax dollars are being spent efficiently and to see the results of publicly funded programs, such as homeless spending and other services. Holly will work to bring full transparency and accountability to the County like she did in the City of Lincoln.

2. Public Safety

Public safety will always remain one of the top priorities. Holly fought to increase public safety levels in Lincoln, which resulted in Lincoln being named the 7th Saftest City in California (#1 in Northern California). As the county grows, Holly will work to make sure that public safety is fully funded and supported. Holly participated in the negotiation for land to build a new Public Safety Training Center in Placer that will benefit all jurisdictions and she will continue to support the efforts to bring this to fruition.

3. Local Control

One of the most urgent issues we face is the ever-eroding local control. Local jurisdictions are constantly navigating state and federal policies that trample on our ability to make decisions that are best for each city. On a larger scale, Placer County must navigate this challenge, as well. Holly is committed to collaboration with each jurisdiction in Placer seeking opportunities to strengthen our local control as a region.

4. Senior Citizens

Now more than ever, senior citizens are faced with a unique set of challenges. Their concerns are often forgotten and we cannot overlook their needs. I have created a Senior Citizen Advisory Panel that will be looking at a variety of issues that affect their daily lives. Together we can tackle issues at the county level to improve their quality of life and honor their contribution to our community.

5. Veterans

We owe tremendous gratitude to our veterans. Placer County has many resources for veterans but we can always do better. The 2024 Point in Time count for homeless veterans was 45. I am committed to working collaboratively with the Placer County Veterans Service Office and other agencies already serving veterans, to combat veteran homelessness, create more authentic job opportunities and training for veterans, and assist veteran families in crisis.
